July 18, 2011, Capcom announced that Megaman Legends 3, the highly anticipated third sequel in the Megaman Legends series (Megaman 64 for N64 fans) was canceled and that there were no plans to continue the game , which had been in development for nearly a year and had a prototype set to come out for the 3DS. According to one of Capcom's twitter accounts, the reason apparently is because not enough people were active in the Devroom ( [link] ) and “it’s a shame the fans didn’t want to get more involved if we saw there was an audience for MML3 people might change minds”.
Fans were not pleased.
Thousands of people across the internet have formed groups on Facebook, Twitter, and various petition sites, demanding that Capcom finish the game / release the prototype and give the fans a chance to show support and prove that there is an audience for this game.
